I was so saddened to hear of Ray Bradbury’s death. Although he lived a full life and touched soooo many people — the world feels a bit diminished now that he’s gone. And his death comes hard on the heels of Jean Craighead George (My Side of the Mountain and Julie of the Wolves) and of course the inestimable Maurice Sendak. I grew up with these writers — they had as much influence over me as any teacher. In fact, possibly more because I can go back to them… I can share them with my kids. There is some solace in that they paved the way for the rest of us and many future writers. Still, I’m sad today.
(I have a black cat just like his! His name is MoMo)
